I still enjoy lingering over a
cup of coffee and perusing over trays of beads.
Which brings me to the new online concept of
"Bead Trade". On the
Rules of Engagement
page you will find the
rules and terms of contract. Please if you do
not agree with these do not pursue this
new format of bead trading. As we enjoy each
others bead stashes, please remember to be
courteous and have fun.
My name is Lezley Lowery and I
live in Iowa with my husband Ken. My love for
beads comes from gemstones given to me as a
child in Iowa. Later during the late sixties and
the early seventies I beaded in a "hippie
fashion". When my two girls were born I traded
my love for beading for those of childhood
crafts. They were my busy years and I seldom
took the time to bead or paint.
Years past and the girls grew. I
started college and graduated with a BA. in Art.
Then the girls left home and I filled my time
with work. But as in all things, the cycle has
come full circle now and the house is full once
again of children (grandchildren) and
excitement. With this is my renewed desire to
create art and bead again. Now, as my grandsons
say, beading is my passion.
All of my designs are original and one of a
kind; I do not make them in multiples. While I
have begun to make my own beads, I do not use
these meager offerings in my designs. It
takes hours for me to search beads stores,
catalogs and the internet for quality
components. I buy beads from some of the most
talented bead artists from all over the world.
Then the fun begins. As I plan, design and
execute my concepts I use mainly sterling
silver, or 14 karat gold fill, along with either
semi-precious gems, pearls and/or Swarovski
crystals.
With
such an long history in beading my mind is
constantly thinking of ways my friends,
customers and contemporaries can express
themselves in new mediums of beading. Hence,
"Bead Trade". I look forward to becoming a
catalyst in your trading and a spark to your
artistic expression. Thanks, Lezley
